Sakyong Mipham emphasizes that the center of all of human relations is our households so they are the building blocks for creating Enlightened Society. Meeting the everyday challenges of parenting and household life with trust in the truth of basic goodness, we offer to others an awake way to live. Since children are our future, it is through them that the Shambhala lineage and culture of kindness and virtue will continue to flourish. As Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche put it, "Applying Shambhala vision to how we raise our children is actually upgrading basic human existence" and allows Enlightened Society to manifest.

In this spirit, we gather together on the second Sunday of each month from 10 am - noon. This will also allow us to offer child care for the Sunday Open Sit meditation session. Please join us as we celebrate families and children and extend our aspiration that as we work together, family-oriented and family-inclusive programs, events, and practice opportunities at our Center will multiply!
