Weekend Retreat: The Practice of Profound Kindness

Too often it seems we live in a world filled with aggression, blame, strife, a lack of decency and dignity, and a general pervasive sense of anxiety. We may experience these feelings in our personal lives or in the doubt and uncertainty related to the future of Shambhala. And they can certainly be easily found in our society as a whole.

How Can We Help? Fortunately, according to the Buddhist and Shambhala wisdom traditions, the antidotes to these problems are close at hand if we only know where to look. Through the practice of profound kindness

  • Confusion can be transformed into wisdom
  • Aggression can be transformed into compassion
  • Anxiety can be transformed into courage

This retreat takes a deep dive into the dharma teachings and practices of profound kindness. Drawing from Buddhist Mahayana teachings as well as Shambhala dharma, the weeklong retreat includes:

  • Specific practices  to develop profound kindness
  • Time for deep meditation and contemplation
  • Conversations and activities related to profound kindness
  • Talks by Acharya Chapman and Mary Sehlinger
