    Tennis Ball Self-Massage Workshop

    Lexington Shambhala Center

    1:00 – 4:00, Saturday March 23rd, 2024

Over time, tension patterns develop in the body due to the ways we live. If ignored, they can create discomfort, pain and may eventually become debilitating. In this workshop, learn how to interrupt tension patterns to create ease and maintain functional movement.

Join licensed massage therapist, yoga educator and Jin Shin Juytsu Practitioner, Karen DiGirolamo for an afternoon of deeply nourishing self-care. Karen will skillfully guide you on a slow journey through the body using your body weight, internal awareness, the breath and slow, gentle movement against tennis balls, dryer balls, hollow rubber balls or balls of your choice. Give yourself the gift of not only an intensely relaxing three-hour workshop, but also the knowledge and understanding of how to use this self-care tool again and again.

Participants will need to come well hydrated and wear clothing that is not too loose as balls tend to get tangled. Bring water and a yoga mat.  Bring a yoga block and two balls in a sock or a variety of balls if you have some. I will have extra blocks and balls if needed.

A Zoom option will offered for those that have attended a tennis ball workshop in person in the past. If new to this practice, in person attendance is strongly recommended.

To register: Contact Karen DiGirolamo at [email protected] or 859.536.1322.

Cost is $55 for Shambhala members, $60 for non-members.
