The hinayana path is the foundation of the Buddhist teachings. To enter the path of Buddhist practice, one must start here. Based on training in mindfulness and awareness and in cultivating a deeper understanding of one’s own mind, the hinayana is what allows us to take delight in our everyday life just as it is. Through study and practice of these teachings, we develop certainty in our our wakeful nature and how to step beyond our doubts and hesitations.

Join Judy Lief, Buddhist teacher and editor of The Profound Treasury of the Ocean of Dharma, for an online course that explores the first volume of this monumental work: The Path of Individual Liberation. Through video recorded during a nine-day retreat she led on the subject, Lief will guide us through the traditional hinayana teachings as taught by Chögyam Trungpa, the Tibetan Buddhist master who was largely responsible for making these teachings accessible and relevant for a Western audience.

Each class will consist of a period of meditation, a talk by Ms. Lief and discussion facilitated by Mary Sehlinger. Participants will have access to transcripts of the talks and will also receive a participant guide, contemplations to help integrate the materials into daily life and recommended readings for each week.

Due to the current construction at our Center, this class will be held in a home, so the number of participants must be limited. Spots will be limited to the first 12 people who register and pay. Once a spot has been reserved for you, you will be contacted with the program location.

Feel free to contact Mary Sehlinger if you have questions at 205-910-1927.
