Open Public Sitting Hours

Café Shambhala, Saturday mornings 10 AM – Noon. Free basic meditation instruction is available. Café offers short sitting sessions, discussion, social time and refreshments.

Tuesday Night Open Sit, 7-8:30 PM. Tuesday night sessions are informal and offer free basic meditation instruction.

Community Practices

Sunday Open Sit – This is an opportunity to strengthen and deepen your practice and is highly recommended for practitioners at every level. Sunday sessions include recitation of morning chants. Open to everyone. 10 am till noon every Sunday (except occasionally on holidays). Shamatha and other lineage practices will be done simultaneously, all in silence. Meditation instruction is usually not available on Sundays.

Sadhana of Mahamudra – The Sadhana of Mahamudra is a practice text written by Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche, the founder of the Shambhala Buddhist lineage, in a sacred cave in Bhutan in 1968. In Lexington this practice is offered monthly, usually on the night of the full moon (see the monthly calendar), starting at 7 PM. All are welcome.
